I was determined to finish my
Acorn Shrug last Wednesday night but I ran out of yarn. When I stopped to pick some more up the next day, the violet yarn was completely sold out! I mean, the world was legitimately trying to sabotage my productivity. Though it began to look more and more like a throw, I pulled through & finished it off with some stripes from my yarn stash. And now for some photos...
It's so big and bulky & I LOVE IT!!Just for fun, I crocheted a big bow which was supposed to go on the "lapel" but it would've been wayyy too busy. If I attach it to some elastic, I think it'll make a really cute chunky headband. Now back to my
Parkahh! muslin ;)
You did it! It looks so good!
ReplyDeleteThanks! For all the complaining I did, I'm actually really happy with it :D
ReplyDeleteThis is absolutely beautiful, I love it! The color combination is perfect. I love it with the all black, but it would also look so cute with just jeans and a tee. Great job! :)
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you made this, it's fabulous!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lexy :) I'm happy I ended up running out of yarn, it would have been so boring if it was all violet!!
ReplyDeleteIt was such an easy pattern to work from, Elizabeth! If you know how to crochet, you should totally try it yourself :)
ReplyDeleteYES! You did SUCH an amazing job.
ReplyDeleteLove the stripes, the yellow ones are my favorite. Hooray for happy mistakes!
Isn't it just so cozy?
Thank you :D It totally worked out for the best! And the coziness factor is off the charts, so warmmm.
ReplyDeleteHow long did you spend on it??!!! I would never have that kind of patience!
ReplyDeleteAlso, it looks gorgeous!
Oh, it took me a little over a month. I had to take a ton of breaks though because the pattern was so tedious. Late night movies and football games helped ;) and thanks lady, everything you make is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteHey Jamie!
ReplyDeleteHow have I not seen your blog before? Love it! Love your acorn shrug, too! Great idea with the stripes! I've been working on my acorn shrug FOREVER and a million other yarn projects have bumped it time and again for the same reason, it's so tedious. Every time I measure it I'm like, seriously? it's not long enough yet? Anyway, love the blog and the pics. Nice to meet a fellow Chicago crafter!

Hi Beth :) Thanks for your sweet comment! It really did take FOREVER, but I'm so happy I'm finally done. I feel like I've got the crochet bug, I hardly want to finish my sewing projects ;x Your mustard dress is insanely inspiring too!
ReplyDeleteIt looks great and really snuggly. The stripes really look good.
ReplyDeleteThanks lady ;)
ReplyDeleteLove the stripes, those really make it pop! I wanted to make this for my nieces, but using just one color seemed so blah, this is a great alternative. Happy crocheting!
