CH3 DC2 SC1

I've decided to start crocheting again after putting my hooks away a few months ago. My thumb and wrist started giving me serious issues but I'm back on board! I literally spent hours on Crochet Pattern Central between yesterday and today looking at women's clothes; namely cardigans. HAH! Can you believe my ambition?! I've only made amigurumis, scarves and pillows. I'm not sure how well I'll do with clothing but I found some really great free patterns*.

I'm going to start out with Lion Brand's Acorn Shrug because it's the easiest of my top picks. Hopefully I can finish it soon enough to throw on for the fall weather that finally arrived today. Maybe even a cardigan by winter too! I also discovered the free patterns available (online) to crocheters are A LOT LESS CUTE than the knitting patterns. Hopefully I'll pick up knitting again; somehow my nonverbal lessons in Germany via a non-English/German-speaking-Russian-Grandma just didn't stick...

*It was a bit difficult to find patterns that included larger measurements but they do exist! Up to a size 52" bust.

  1. ahhhhh! You & your blog are so stinkin' adorable! Thought I'd link it on my blog (not that it gets a monstrous amount of traffic), if you don't mind. :)

It's too weird that I'm planning on making the exact same shrug next as well! I've never made a sweater before either, but crochet is easy enough, right? Hopefully getting my yarn tomorrow - looking forward to seeing how yours turns out too!

  2. Aw, you're so sweet!! I appreciate the link :)

It's hilarious that we're making the same shrug! I picked up my yarn in blue heather yesterday but I'm reallyyy indecisive and now I'm using violet instead. I'm excited to get started, I even bought a new bamboo handle J hook lol.

  3. OOO I feel inspired now. I love the red orange one. I agree too, it is SOOO hard to find cute crocheted sweater patterns. Who the F has time (patience) for knitting anyway?

  4. I don't think I'll ever be the knitter I wanna be lol. It's just sooooo time consuming and hard! I could never get past purling ;x That red orange one is so perfect, I'm going to try it next!

  6. I just looked! Those colors are great together :) I haven't gotten too far either but I just realized the 2nd skein is totally a different, more reddish shade and it's thinner yarn!!! How could they be SO inconsistent??! ;(
