Friday I went to Joann to pick up the Cynthia Rowley pattern, and to my surprise: + All Simplicity patterns were 99¢ till the 22nd. Great. Now it's going to cost me full price ($16.95) whenever they actually have it back in stock! I don't know which part is worse, missing out on the pattern while on sale or the print I chose being sold out till February 25th! So it seems metallic gold check wins. I'm not sure I'll be able to finish the dress in time for The Gold & The Beautiful, but here's hoping...

To further explain the logo I designed, here is our organization's mission statement:

The restrictive and marginalizing beauty ideals in American culture devalue and demoralize women of all shapes and sizes. Fat women, in particular, need a sanctuary from the body-hate rhetoric. Your Weight in Gold Clothing Exchange events foster an environment in which fierce, femme fatshionistas are empowered to acknowledge their worth and celebrate their presence. The events are more than environmentally conscious ways to supplement your wardrobe; they honor a lifestyle that never apologizes for size or sass. By building a community where all bodies are embraced and embellished, Your Weight in Gold strengthens the bonds between fat women everywhere.

2011, So Far...

This year is off to a great start! My productivity level isn't quite where I want it to be, but I've still been pretty busy. Some really fun and exciting things are happening next month and I couldn't be happier about my involvement. I don't want to spoil anything so here's a brief post about a logo I just designed for said surprise event!

I'm SO happy with it! I'm still working on the rest of the goodies she goes along with, but I'll eventually post about those things too :)
